Used to work for IRS. If you and the mother have a good relationship. There is a form you can fill out. Forgot the name. You both can sign to have alternating years of claiming the child and there will be no mix up. Example you get odd number years and she the even. Good luck.

I receive child support. He can't claim it. Which makes sense. I provide more than what he pays in money and time. His efforts do help though.

If you are paying child support, I would think you should be able to receive the credit. Only seems fair to me...

you need to have that in writing from the custodial parent
AND get it entered into your divorce decree
