what kind of hub? usb hub, networking hub there are many types of hubs.

A Computer Hub acts like a replicator when ever a packet is recived it is retransmitted on all the other ports, This kind of increases the trafic thats the reason why we use Switche's insted of Hub's these days

Hub connection is for 2types. One is from SERVER and other is
EXTENDER.If U are going to use hub for multyplying ports from PCs RJ45 then use a CROSSED cable from PC to HUB. Crossed cable means Rx & tx ends are exchanged at both ends.
If U are using it as extender then use DIRECT cable from one Hub to another. In this cable wires are not exchanged. U get crossed or direct cable ready from store also. Dont forget to use
power supply for each hub. When properly connected the HUB will show "activity" LED blinking as soon as network is working.
