You are simply being too greedy (i'm being polite). Try a bit of self-control.

In my humble opinion, there are two ways.

Method 1: Great psychological method; Everytime you start taking on sweet stuff for lunch, take a ten dollar bill and tear it apart. Keep a lot of those, you'll be needing them to tear off everytime you do that, in less than a week you'll stop the habit to make sure you don't lose anymore precious 10 dollars.

Method 2: Start replacing your sweet cravings with packs of cut fruits. Mix 3 to 4 types, strawberry, grapes, mango, honeydew, watermelon, cherries and even guava, these fruits are kinda sweet except for guava. Asians love to eat diced guava with dried cherry powder or those dried fruit powders such as tangerine. Gives it a nice flavor. Accompany those fruits with one or two servings of bakery - a cheese stick, a chocolate muffin, or chocolate ball or something less sugary. With your work going on, you'll burn up the sugar fast but you don't tire out so fast because it's not complicated carbohydrates (MAKE SURE IT IS JUST one or two servings of bakery, NOT MORE).

If your blood sugar is running low, you will usually go for a quick fix - sugar based stuff which will quickly release energy into your system.

The trick is to get some slow releasing complex carbs into your system in the morning - like porridge or meusli.
If you combine that with protein, like an egg or something, your blood sugar should stay at a more sustained level throughout the morning.

Avoid high sugar intakes in the morning or for the early part of the day - it will leave you with a "low" later on towards lunchtime.

Also, try eating something midmorning, like a slice of brown bread and a piece of fruit - again that should sustain you till lunch.

If your blood sugars stay at a more even level, you shouldn't have the same sugar cravings!

Good luck.

Pack your lunch... bring something you like. Spend half and hour packing your lunch if you could afford it. Try not to starving by lunch time. Eat a little something between lunch and breakfast. Like a banana or a cereal bar. When we are starving our body craves sugar... a quick fix.

Once you pack and bring your lunch. Leave your lunch money at home. Leave your ATM card in the car... So you won't be temped to eat junk at work. Don't ever buy junk at the groc. store and bring it home.

Don't eat with coworkers who eat unhealthy and if you can save fifeen min after lunch go outside for a short walk.

This works for me. Good luck.

Bring a lunch you'll actually eat. Leave money in the car or at home so that you don't buy the snacks. Overall, you just need to want it bad enough to stop. Make the decision that you are worth taking care of and start treating you body better by eating healthier. Good luck.

Nothing wrong with a size 12. Keep eating the chocolate muffins. Send me one while you're at it, and I'll send you a box of caramel custard doughnuts from the bakers around the corner. We call them Diabetes Doughnuts because of the sugar content, which is approximately 3 kilogrammes of pure refined sugar per doughnut. Hmm. I just drooled onto my keyboard ...

You're addicted to sugar.

For a start, get yourself checked out to see if you're diabetic. That can cause cravings (it also tends to give you a raging thirst).

Then go on an Atkins-stye regime for a while. Cut out all refined sugars and starches (including bread, cereal, potatoes, white rice & pasta), and you should see this raging hunger subside. If you like it, you may find it changes the way you eat forever.

Do you eat anything between Breakfast and lunch?? Do you have any breakfast? :-s

Try eating fruit between breakfast & lunch Natural sweetness and good for you. Give it a go you go more to loose if you carry on staffing your cake hole.

Hmm or it could be lot of chocolate meaning your body is craving protein!!! At lunch time.

;p

I feel your pain. I used to have cravings (sort of anyway) for chocolate when there was none.
The way I solved it was to give myself a weekly budget of say £5 to spend on what I like to call 'sugar products'. Eventually I started eating less and less until I had it under control.
Also, try making your own sandwiches. It's easy: just think of stuff you like, then think which ones go together, then stick them between 2 slices of bread and there you have a sandwhich.
I like simple things like tuna and cucumber, or chicken, tomato and a little mayo.
Try it.
