Would it be better to have one long summer break or to have lots of little breaks throughout the year.

Small breaks seem better, it gives the kids more to look forward to throughout the year. I know that they are fazing in year round school in our area and the kids have a full month off at Christmas time.

I think this should really be left up to the individual schools after considering the reasons why they break for the summer.
In the Farming communities many of the school going kids have to help on the farm and would not have time to do this and go to school if classes were being held.
Then too, Americans like to take their vacations during the summer time and if they had to send their kids off to school they would not be able to do this as a family group.
I think that these are the main reasons why there is a "summer break" to begin with.
Otherwise it would be much more expedient and economical to just have year around classes.

SUMMER BREAK!! Students need a reward during the summer. Besides if there is no break, they can't go on vacations with family. I think if there was no summer break students would really not like school and start to skip!

I have a question for ya. What kind of dancer are ya? To answer your original question: I personally wouldn't mind year round school, because I've been outta school for 25 years, but I bet those that are in school now, would hate that idea.

Lot's of little breaks is fine, too much work means too much stress.
