I have a red strapless gown with embroidery and beading. All the detail on the gown is red. What color and style shoes should I wear with this? I'm sure matching reds will be difficult, and I really dont want to mess with dying. The gown is floor length, so the shoes wont be extremely noticable. Thanks!

Basic black, red, or match your jewelry color. If you are wearing silver, then silver shoes, same for yellow gold. Since the dress is going to mostly hide the shoe, it won't be noticeable if the reds don't perfectly match. I wouldn't go with white, it might look too Chirstmas-y.
I would definitely stick with satin shoes to match the material of the dress. I would also avoid true sandals as they don't usually look dressy enough for that formal of a gown, and stay away from very high heels that can be uncomfortable and make walking and dancing more difficult.

Just some ideas and examples:

You have the most style options with black.
Basic black shoes can be worn with most any dress, so you wouldn't be buying a shoe for just a one time wear.

With black, you can also go with a dressier shoe easier since the color doesn't draw attention on it's own.

You could try to bring the rosebud design from the bodice down to your shoes.

Red is a bit trickier since you don't want dyeable shoes. You can still get red since the shoes will be mostly covered, but you have to keep it in that apple and crimson family, not burgundy or true red.

Or use a black overlay to help offset the red while still using it.

For gold or silver, you want to keep it simple. When you use two bold colors, you don't want the pieces competeing for attention. So maybe stick with a paler tone of the color, and avoid rhinestone decorations. You could also try a champagne or platinum for a nice color that's not too bright or flashy.

It depends on your jewellery. Match it to that. If your not wearing jewellery any of the three colour would work, even black. Its not like your shoes will be showing a lot right? If it was me i'd most likely go with silver. If your buying it you'll us those the most, and there is more variety.

base the shoes on the beading, jewelry, and clutch you're planning to have with you. You dont want to match and be the walking all red zombie. you want to coordinate your outfit.
good luck and im sure you'll look amazing.

white shoes!
what colour is the embroidery?
match the colour... if it's red.. then i'm not too sure.. will there be too much red?
umm.. you can always play it safe and wear black.. but i'd personally go for white.. OR NAVY BLUE!!
red, white, blue are good together! =D
