How and why ? It was EVIL, it was an embarrassment to the West it WAS inhumane, IT WAS JUST PLAIN WRONG! Is that enough. the USA, U.K an whole host of other nations, brought Economic sanctions against South Africas government, basically their economy was no longer working because no-one was trading with them. That brought the chickens home to roost and the Apartheid regime was broken, many people emigrated from the country but many also stayed. The aftermath of it is that the economy is struggling under the new leadership which in essence was to be expected.

The system reached a "A critical mass" and imploded!
But now S.A. as a result is a very dangerous place to live. Now that the one time SS Police force has converted to a normal one crime is rampant.
The how and why is the subject of many books ...too complicated to answer herein in detail. I have lived there but can't go back the crime is out of hand! 2 out of 10 suffer Car-Jackings ever day in Pretoria alone!!!!!! Pastors have handguns and the crime wave is not abating
