Well I don't know where u are from, but in Canada u can go to human resourses once u get an eviction notice and being a single mom they will help u with this, or your second option would be to go to the landlord and give them what u have and make arrangements to make up the remainder in person, or last option would be to tell them to use your "damage deposit" towards what u owe and u will pay them a little extra each month to make it up. Good Luck, I am a single mom too so I know sometimes it can be tough.

Call your local Salvation Army branch. They should help you. They will also help with utility bills.
They don't ask too many questions as far as income guidelines. If you have a shut off notice or an eviction notice, they jump to action to get the bills paid up to date.
They've helped people I know in the past. They were nice and treated them with respect.

Have you been taken to court by the landlord? Do you have a lease? If you have a lease that has not expired and haven't been taken to court you can remain at the premises. Speak to the Landlord about a payment plan and go to family services in your state for assistance.
Good luck.

first go to your landlord. explain your situation to him/her. that should give you a few days to find monies to cover your rent. in
peoria, IL you can go to salvation army for emergency funds. they will pay your 1 months rent. I dont know what area you live in but you can try salvation army or township relief. public aid is another option but it takes a while to get that going. good luck!

if you arent able to go through the banks or anything like that then there is welfare, and for a single mother you should get quite a bit.
