No 1 is at the front of the engine, not the car, where all the pulleys are. 1342 is the firing order but make sure you find no 1 on the distributor and find out which way the rotor turns (take the cap off and have someone crank it for a second).

1342 where no 1 is furthest the rear bulkhead (or nearest the front of the car). On the distributor it goes from the lead which is closest to your engine block, supposing your distributor is set correctly of course, this is no1 rotating anti clockwise in numerical order of firing ie 1342. Once you have established which is which mark up the HT leads and only remove one at a time from distributor, this sort of confusion is common amongst new mechanics.

usually 1342

number 1 is at the opposite end to the gear box take the distributor cap off and line up all the timing marks on the pully at the bottom of the engine the lead the rotor arm is pointing at is number1 get someone to turn the engine over on the key just to see if it rotates clockwise or anti clockwise you now know no1 thenext one it points at is no3 then 4 then 2

It don't matter cause you can't purchase unleaded petrol nor can you purchase an additive for it. Unleaded petrol will not harm your engine in any way. Keep your oil changed regularly and that will do the trick. Leaded gasoline in the old days helped to lube the engine...as the lead did this. Today's engine oils take care of that problem.

they go 1 3 4 2 but you need to find out which one is no:1 you should only take one off at a time to save confusion in future.

Hi >
I agree.
1-3-4-2 is the best bet, looking from left to right.
Works on nearly all 4-cyl motors.

Good luck,
Bob.
