Sometimes during the course of my work, I need to select some text or other things using my mouse and then delete them. The steps are often done repeatedly.

Currently, I need to press the delete button or use the context menu to delete. Either way, I need to use my right hand.

It would definitely ease my right hand if I could do something on the keyboard to delete using my left hand while my right hand needs to only select the text.

Is there a way I can delete using my left hand ?

Ctrl X (cut and then just dont paste) need to highlight somehow first (double click selects a word and then a sentence in some programs)

Select the text using the mouse with the right hand and press the Ctrl an 'X' keys together. This is kinda a stop-gap arrangement coz Ctrl + X will cut the text nevertheless, but will also copy the text onto the clipboard. Therefore, if you need to have something else on your clipboard you need to select that text/graphic and do Ctrl + C again. Hope this helps. But it isnt so hard to bring your left hand to the Del key, is it?

the only thing I can think of is to press CTRL-A with the left hand (select all), then backspace with the left hand, space-bar, or you can do CTRL-X with the left hand to "cut" the text.

It really depends on what you are deleting, but if it's text this should work. Also remember you can use the left hand to press the tab key which will cycle through the elements of the form you are working on.

Move your left hand over to the Delete key. There is nothing on the left side of the keyboard that can delete text. The Backspace key IS closer if you want to use that.

Selecting the text with the mouse then hitting the delete button with your left hand is the quickest/easiest way I know of.
