depends on the relationship, and the partners whether or not one is a "top" (masculine, giver), "bottom" (feminine, taker) and/or both most times they switch or "swap around". (this is coming from someone with experience in this subject) I'm homosexual, why dont you guys understand this guy is just curious not gay, right?

I am gay and the truth of the matter is that most gay relationships evolve depending on the preference of the two people in the relationship . There are gay men who prefer to be a bottom only , others prefer to be a top only , some are versatile bottoms or versatile tops this means that they prefer to be bottoms or tops on occasion but will switch roles if their partner should desire it . As in my case I am a versatile top , I prefer to top but I will bottom if my partner should like me to on occasion . I believe in any relationship if you are with someone you have to do what will please your partner .You can't be locked into one role all the time and unless you are seeking someone who is a bottom all the time you have to be versatile . Gay sex is no different than straight sex there are give and takes you have to be ready to act out side of the box and be open to the needs and desires of your partner .

HEY IDIOTS!!! If you're not gay why do you think your answer is worth typing????
As a gay man I can tell you from experience that some men feel more comfortable adopting the same role everytime they have sex - regardless of the holes being used....
However, many men prefer a versatile approach because they can enjoy all aspects of sex and want to experience all the bits that bring them pleasure....I find that things just happen with me and my boyfriend...it's not really planned who does what, but the key to a healthy sexual relationship of any kind is being able to ask for what you want, so one of us will ask the other to do something in particular, and of course - don't be selfish!!!!

In some relationships, the roles can be the same, in others the roles are reversed from time to time. Most gay men I know tend to be versatile (that means giving and receiving). BTW the question is not offencive

There can be variety in any relationship both gay and straight. But would say that in my experience this is something that some guys have a definite line on as in top or bottom and some guys are happy for both.
Can say that after being in a relationship for 10 years sometimes u can get "taken" by surprise !

It greatly depends on the two involved. In some relationships, both men can have a versatile relationship. Sometimes, guys prefer being the receiver (bottom) and or the giver (top). However; there are couples where the anal sex doesn't exist.

Its a fair question. If you don't ask these things then you never find out. Most people seem to have the right idea. Depends on the couple really. People fall into roles that are comfortable for themselves, just like straight people.

Gay men have preferences. In gay sex I prefer to take the passive role, and there are plenty of active males out there.
My last gay relationship was more about sharing than sex. We took turns satisfying each other anally. In somre relationships it's different. It's all about sharing really.

Well, it can depends on the type that you arte or what you prefer, if you prefer being in sone role then that's for you and vice versa. Basically any gay couple can swap roles etc but perhaps it's a case of preference.

Depends some like giving some like recieving, some like both. I have a friend who would go after anything with a piece of meat and two veg but would vomit at the thought of recieving gay sex he went crazy when I asked and was like "oh my god no it's gross" yet he dosn't mind giving it to men. I guess it depends on the person in question and the relationship.

I'm not homosexual so I can't answer with certainty, but it might be like heterosexual couples. I mean, sometimes the girl might take a dominant role and go on top or the guy might. In that case, it'd also depend on the couple; some may prefer the female in control and some may prefer the male in control.
