I tried everything, and nothing worked until I set a date and said OK, that is it, no more smoking from now on. That was March 8th this year. I did not buy ciggies, I would not sit with the people who smoked and I stopped going to the pub for a while. Whenever i had a craving I just worked through it by breathing and repeating over and over again "I will not smoke" when things got really bad I used a lip balm that tasted a bit medicated and and that put me off wanting to smoke. I will be honest and say it is really hard, but I have not smoked for 7 months and 8 days now.

My Doctor, who is an addictionologist, a recovering addict and a smoker used and recommends a new drug called CHANTIX. You can find information at www.chantix.com. He has used the drug with success for the last 3 months. A real testament to the commitment of his profession and his personal triumphs. Peace
EDIT: This person asked about a problem, a medical problem, telling her to not smoke is completely redundant. And to the one who said to use your will power, please!!! The next time you have diarrhea YOU use YOUR willpower to stop it. You do not treat major medical problems with will power and it is not a choice it is an ADDICTION, the same as cancer is NOT a choice it is an ILLNESS.
