Oh yes I did and it was exciting. I did think and believe tho that he was more generous to my friends whose parents were better off. But it was a once a year time when I got things so it was exciting to me...the anticipation was the biggest part of it...pure magic. We didn't ask for things from Santa...we just got what we got and were grateful. I remember pennies, walnuts and tangerines in my stocking (an old sock really) bubble bath, mittens, a scarf and once a pair of ice skates that really had to hit my parents hard in the pocketbook, there were 6 of us and my mother went to work in the department store every Christmas to provide us with these things. My dad was a cop and they didn't make much money in those days. I remember my mom telling me he made $52.00 dollars a week and there was no health insurance because there was no health plan in existence like Blue Cross/Blue Shield...nobody had it. Times have changed but I don't believe for the better somehow.

Yes and I even ran away to find Santa when I was 4. Santa was smart enough to have me sit beside him until my parents showed up. But I had 3 older brothers who told me the truth before I started school.
With my own kids, I refused to even ever say that Santa was real. I would say "Santa represents how good we want to feel about our family". I was a single mother and couldn't afford the stuff on TV. Still, they managed to really believe despite my efforts.

I believed in Santa until I just couldn't justify it anymore. I loved the thought and excitement. My brother was born premature before baby heart monitors, my parents took turns sitting up with him to make sure he was breathing. I woke up in the middle of the night to find my daddy awake and assembling a table and chair set. I was terribly upset. He explained that Santa had come and understood he couldn't go to sleep so he left him my toys to put together. I was relieved and went back to sleep until morning. Daddy died December 17,2005. I miss daddy maye he is still helping Santa.

Not only did I believe in Santa, but the thought of an old man sneaking into a child's bedroom in the middle of the night to fill their stockings with presents - scared the living crap out of me. Which is why a). I insisted that my stocking be placed in my sister's room (how protective a sibling was i?) and b). I am now in therapy. As for that tooth fairy...

Yes I beleived in Santa till I was about 8. My older brother told me that he didn't exist and that it was mom giving us the presents. He then confronted my mom and I was horrified to find out the truth. My mom, being the person she is, said "oh well, that means I have to buy less presents for you all now!" (like she was getting the better end of the deal). So then me and my brother had to plot how to divert this catastrophe and we decided to give her presents and a stocking from Santa.

So she put baby food in our stockings for the next 10 years! Then we all grew up.

Now, as for the toothfairy! When I was 5 I woke up when the toothfairy was there! She was behind me, and I was sleeping facing the wall! I wanted to turn around so badly. I could hear jingling and everything (thinking it was her making jingly noises from moving around). I finally get up the nerve to turn around and its my mom fishing around in her purse for change! I asked here where was the tooth fairy and scared the daylights out of her! She told me the toothfairy was sick and she called mom to check in on me. Since then, I have not seen the toothfairy, but at age 34, I still beleive.

Ironically my mother always told me that Santa, Easter Bunny even over here in Puerto Rico when I was small every January 6 we celebrate 3 Kings Day ( she also told me it's not true ) and that's when kids leave under their bed a box of grass and a glass of water for the 3 Kings and their camels; for doing that the 3 Kings would leave each kid a gift. So, no...I never beleived in anything like that.

Yes, but when I was 8 I sort of figured out he didn't exist so I left my parents wine instead of mince pies.
