You need to check with the University you want to apply to: the requirements vary depending on the university and also on the course you want to do.
Normally British universities ask for an IELTS score. (TOEFL is the American equivalant.) There is an Academic and a General IELTS exam, and you'll want to take the Academic exam. There are reading, writing, listening and speaking parts to the exam. You get a score between 0 and 9.5. Most universities ask for around 6.5. You can take IELTS most weeks of the year and the qualification is valid for 2 years.
Some Universities will accept the Cambridge Exams (normally Advanced - CAE, or Proficiency - CPE). If it's a business related course you're interested in then they might accept the Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) Higher. The Cambridge exams are only held 3 times a year, in March, June and December and you need to book a couple of months before.
For Cambridge exams and IELTS, taking a short preparation course can be really helpful.
Some universities that choose students mainly by interview (for example Oxford and Cambridge) don't necessarily require an English exam score for undergraduate courses. They expect you to perform well at interview and/or in their own entrance test.
But it's important to check what you're airming for! Try contacting some universities that offer courses you're interested in and asking them what IELTS score they require or if they accept any other qualifications. Also check when they want you to take it - some will not accept a qualification over a year old.
Good luck!

It depends entirely on the University or college where you want to study. At the University of North Texas, we accept over 15 different measures of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GCE, CAE, and many, many others). Our goal is to ensure that students have a college-level understanding of English language so they can have the best chance of success. You can see our score requirements and the different English tests we accept at: http://www.international.unt.edu/admissions/requirements/language.htm
If you are specifically wanting to know what TOEFL scores you will need, you can either contact the institutions where you want to apply, or you can look at a list of some schools that are listed on the ETS website: http://www.ets.org/portal/site/ets/menuitem.1488512ecfd5b8849a77b13bc3921509/?vgnextoid=031e4e63dcc85010VgnVCM10000022f95190RCRD&vgnextchannel=333bd898c84f4010VgnVCM10000022f95190RCRD This is just a sample of some schools and the scores they require on the new TOEFL iBT; it is not a complete list, and it does not list what scores those schools would have accepted on the paper- or computer-based versions of the TOEFL, but it's a starting point.
Good luck!

Depending which University and what course! Normally, a high
level of of the English language is required, unless you are going
for an "interchange student" program.

Professional qualifications aside - unless you're fluent in conversational english you will never survive at university. If you're not sure what something means you can easily ask someone - but you have to be good enough to understand their explanation!

I did the two physics and maths at A-point. In 2d-365 days physics there are some frustrating derivations to do for somebody of your mathematical calibre. whether, first 365 days is enormously uncomplicated stuff and not lots extra complicated than GCSEs. you would be in stable stead with an AS point in physics whichever you p.c., whether it relies upon on what you prefer to do at college.
