I've seen both movies and since there are definitely comparisons that can be made between the two, I was wondering which one you guys like better and why.

And yes, I realize that in both cases, the violence and the utter scale of the events have been heavily toned down and what actually happened was a tragedy far beyond what a 2-3 hour film could portray. Seeing as that is the case, I have a second question:
Where can I find "Sometimes in April" or any other much more accurate protrayals of the genocides?

Tinikk, I'm also horrified by the lack of action taken in regards to Sudan. Sure, they signed a peace treaty in May but the violence is far from stopping; I've heard it's actually escalating.

oljedsamillionaire, thanks for the recommendation. I will be sure to check it out if I can find it.

Elly, If you enjoyed Schindler's List, go to the library and get the book "Schindler's Legacy" It tells what happened to many of the people that were rescued. I think that you will enjoy it.

i haven't seen schindler's list.. but i'd like too.. i'lve seen hotel rwanda and i simply LOVED it!!.. although it's a toned down version of the real genocide.. i still cry everytime i watch the movie. It's so great. great actors too... the thing is though.. although we love hotel rwanda and other movies alike.. there's a genocide in sudan right as we speak.. or 'type' so the case may be.. but i dunno.. not a lot has been done to help... i'm from australia.. and i didn't even know it was happening.. until i watched Oprah.. but anyway.. back on topic haha.. hotel rwanda is one of the greatest movies made these days.. it has a purpose.

I did...the present President of Rwanda visited the college that I paintings at some weeks in the past to talk about the partnership we've advanced in helping in getting extra medical doctors and medical concepts in his united states.

Schindler's List, because it's Spielberg. I wish hotel rwanda could 've been spielberg too. Spielberg is one hell of a story teller.

Both are so dramatic. I prefer "Life is Beautiful" (Roberto Begnini)
