When people say that they have to ghost a hard drive. They are refering to coping the drive to some other media(cd, another harddrive, etc). Ghosting hard drives is great cause it allows you to copy everthing on the hard drive(programs, updates, basicly anything on the hard drive) to another media. Which could be used to restore the data on the old hard drive to a new hard drive and everything would be already setup and ready to go. This is also refered to imaging a hard dirve. Nortan offers the ghost product. There are other Disk imaging tools aswell.

You're probably thinking of Norton Ghost. It is used to clong hard drives. You can clone one hard drive, or set it up on a network to have it clone as many drives as you want.
