First, it's not clear in your post whether or not you're absolutely certain that their both males...have you been to a vet to verify this? The reason I ask is that females will hump things too. Humping is not just a sexual act for rabbits. It's also a way to communicate and to show dominance. Especially if being housed with a male close by, a female will try to dominate everything within reach. On the other hand, if you're certain that it is 2 males, you're in for a lot of work. It can be done. I've done it more than once, but it is not easy. Males, even when neutered are still chock full of testosterone, and they are still very set in their ways of being the only male in the house. As long as you are firm and are consistent, they will learn to get along. It might be a good starting place to try introducing them to eachother outside of the room they are in. Put them each in a carrier and take them outside on neutral territory. Put them close enough for eachother to see. A lot of the times, this is the right place to start. After you do this, what you want to do is let them out at separate times for their runs. Any time someone is aggressive through the wire, put them immediately back into their cage. That will teach them that you're not going to put up with the behavior anymore, and will also teach them that if they're nice to eachother, they get the fun of being able to run around. Once you get to the point where no one's aggressive through wire, it's time to try a run together. Same rule applies when aggression comes up. Keep at it. It can take a very long time, but it can happen. Another thing that I've done that has helped, is try putting them in eachother's cage for an hour or 2 so that they can get up close and personal with the other's scent. You also might try posting your question to the EtherBun group on Yahoo. They have a lot of combined experience, and I'm sure you can get some great ideas there too! Good luck!

I own many rabbits - 16 in fact. All of the males are in separate cages. I have a few females together but some of them are separate. Some female can be aggressive and also try to mount the others , it never goes over well. Male rabbits rarely get along together once they get to the age they can breed. So I would say that it is unlikely, even though you rabbits are fixed, that they will get on together.
Also you say that you were told the second rabbit was a female, have you checked or just assume becasue it mounted a toy, female will mount things. Below is a site of how to check the sex.

It is not good to keep rabbits together after they get about 70 days old. Past that age they gain the tendancy to want to fight or chew each other's fur. I don't recommend putting them in the same pen. I think that would be very unwise. It sounds like you may want to also put a solid divider between the two pens if they are fighting already through the wire. My dad and I use solid plastic dividers to separate the rabbits in our cages. They are good for several reasons. They keep the rabbits from fighting each other. They keep the rabbits from chewing each other's fur through the wire (you'll notice fur gone on the nose). And they keep male rabbits from peeing on the rabbit next to them. We get our plastic dividers from Klubertanz I think.

The site below will show you how you can sex your rabbits if you wish to.

Male rabbits don't get along as much even if they're neutered. For your own sake, keep them separated. They are VERY aggressive.

P.S. When buying a rabbit, if you can, try picking it up. If the rabbit starts kicking and behaves aggressively, it's most likely to be a male. If it's more passive, it's probably a female.

male rabbits generally don't get together as well, but I guess you could try to get them used to each other first. Don't let them out together and let them get used to each other in their cages. When they're okay with seeing each other you can try letting them sniff each other or something over the cage. once they begin to ignore (and not try to kill) each other, you can remove the cage and watch. just make sure it's gradual. maybe they will be more comfortable having their own private area, toys, and food. it's not definate that they will become friends, but hopefully they will

i hope this helps, if it doesn't i'm really sorry.

Two neutered males should get on together. Have you tried letting them out together while you are closely supervising. I think they need to have a good sniff of each other and perhaps that will satisfy them.. At the moment they have only SEEN each other but not been able to have contact.

Try it and see how they get on.

It's not likely that they will get along. If you contact the House Rabbit Society they might be able to help with bonding but it'll be long and difficult with two males. I suggest you just contact hrs and get two females. It's more hair and poop but you'll have very happy not lonely buns. http://www.rabbit.org
