Some of the birth control methods that have hormones in them are the ones that have the worst side effects. I tried the pill, but I could not handle the mood swings, depression, or the increase in my migraines. I have now gotten the IUD. There are no hormones (or at least a very small amount) and it is good for up to 5 years. I did experience some cramping for about a week after getting it, but that was to be expected because I have never had children. My period that month also lasted a little longer. But those were the only side effects and now I feel great. I don't even have to think about it. That might be the best non-hormonal method, next to condoms or abstinence.

Every birth control has side effects, some are worse than others, birth control is not a natural thing, and everytime you put something like that in your body its not a good thing. I am on depo-provera, it is the birth control shot, I have not had any bad side effects from the shot, I like it because it's not something you have to remember daily, you get a shot every 3 months, and it's done, you should maybe look into something like that

the hormones in the BC pill can cause your body to do weird things. I gained 40 pounds while on the BC Pill. Got off the pill and couldn't lose the weight.
An IUD would be a good choice, or condoms would work fine. Of course, the only 100% safe method is saying "no"... easier said than done, that's for sure.

As the others said, and birth control that contains hormones is going to mess up your system. You will experience side effects - symptoms that mimic menopause!
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DEPO-PROVERA!!!! This stuff is poisoning women, and making us so so sick!
If you are interested in help with your endo, try natural progesterone cream. Endo is an estrogen driven disease, and progesterone is the body's natural "anti-estrogen". It has been shown to relieve endo in as little as 6 months!!

I have Mirena IUD and love it. Not sure what it does to someone with endometriosis. My periods are very light now with the IUD, that seems to be the only side effect.

I've had problems with all forms of birth control except for the NuvaRing. It seems to work the best for me. I feel slightly nauseous for the first few days of using it, but that's the only problem I've ever had with it.

I have the same thing. I've been on Nordette, Triphasil, Marvelon, Depo Provera, and my body cannot handle any of them. I have tried Yasmine now and that seems to cause the least problem (note that it still is not right).

not sure with endometriosis, but have you asked your doctor about an IUD? personally it wasn't for me, but i have a lot of friends who love it.
i use depo-provera, the shot every 3 months, and love it. i don't get periods, spotting, weight gain or anything.
your doctor would have better information than me, though
