Some people, whom I don't agree with, insist that sense of driving depends on the side of the Driver's Seat within the car: if he sits on the right side (as in the U K, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and some other countries), it is termed, "RIGHT HAND DRIVE"; and if he sits on the left side (as in Continental Europe, Canada and the U S A) it is called left -hand drive. My views are just the contrary.
Please confirm one or the other.

i'd have to say no. i think the terms come from the side of the road you drive on. 'left-hand driving'-because you drive on the left-hand side of the road; that would be UK, india, etc.

the USA do drive on the left hand side but you can change it to right hand side if you wont
it is correct where you sit depends on which side of the road you are meant to drive that car but the car will still drive on the road no mater with side of the car you sit
some cars you have to drive that was because of local laws depending on the car

People describe the road, not where the driver sits. So people in British colonies drive on the left, normal people on the right. People on horses sit in the middle.
