Perhaps a fan is wearing out and causing the noise. As the computer warms up the fans spin faster so that's why there is a delay before hearing the noise.

Most pc motherboards have a safty device built into them , and after a time the will spin the processor fan a little faster so to keep the CPU cooler.
In this case as the fan spins faster the dust that has collect in it over the years will cause the fan to bibrate.
Try and look at the fan and the cooler grills under the fan and see if you can see any dust that you can remove without damaging them.
If you cant, then try using the thin radiator attachment on your hoover hose and try and suck it out.
If you have a blowwer then even better, even a air inflatable pump will do the job .
And if you are willing, try removing the fan and cleaning properly.

Most likely dust or a faulty fan. If the PC keeps blue screening or restarting for no reason then it's probably the CPU fan.
If not, do not disconnect the CPU fan! This fan is required to keep the CPU from overheating and becoming destroyed!!
The CPU fan is the fan on the motherboard covering the CPU (Pentium or AMD chip). Fans on the case are just there to help with the cooling and air flow - they are OK to disconnect for testing purposes.
The power supply fan could be at fault. It is best to use your eyes to ensure it is spinning properly. This is the fan usually at the back of the case where the power plug connects. The only way to replace this fan is to buy a new power supply unit.

It wont be the CPU which has had no moving parts since Babbage.

It will almost certainly be one of the many fans in the casing.

Unplug them individually until the noise stops and then look for a replacement on the Internet - they are quite cheap.

It could also be your hard disk but unlikely

yeah...your cooler may be damaged a lil or just tired .
replace it and it should be ok...
that is the single loud-noise-source that a computer usually has after it's used a lot.

Actually it's the fan not the processor. it gives noise because it's worm up , snd this not a normal thing, Please change your processor fan very soon because it will stop work soon to be in the safe side with your processor.
