When it is sitting and when you drive it it runs like crap. When you step on it it wants to die. It has no acceleration at all. The check engine light is not on we put on new cap, plugs, wires,rotor, fuel filter, and still that did not help. What is wrong with it?

I'll try to help you with the limited information you've given.
Check the vacuum hose going to the Map sensor. If it is soft, cracked or broken, replace it. Tap, with a wrench, on the EGR valve to insure that it's not open. If it's stuck, take it off and clean or replace it. An EGR valve will cause a flat spot and rough idle.
Take a small piece of paper and stick it under each injector to make sure it's working. You should see fuel on the paper. When accelerating, if there is a back fire in the exhaust or intake, you have plug wires crossed or a cam with a flat lobe. Check the timing and be sure the plug wires are installed correctly. Check all vacuum hoses to be sure they are OK.
Remove the dist. cap and watch the rotor as you move the crankshaft pulley back and forth, to see how much play there is in the timing chain. If the rotor doesn't move until you've turned the pulley 1/8 turn. The chain is bad. It could have jumped time.

It could be the airflow or throttle sensor or fuel pump gone bad.It's best to get a diagnostic check done on it and go from there.Since it's 16 years old it could be a number of things and you could go broke by guessing.

could be a couple of things. check plug wire routing. fuel injectors clogged, compression test, does it have a mass air flow sensor is it connected properly? best guess with infoi have, jumped timing chain.
