Call his doctor and ask the nurse.
He has only been coughing for 2 days. It may be just a little congestion. Everyone gets it. Just give him lots of water and make him cough to get it out of his lungs.

well i dont think a cough is normal for a baby cutting teeeth i do know there is a nasty cold going around and it doesnt want to elave when people get it so you should take the baby to the dr becuase with such a small child there are concerns for rsv which can be dangerous not to make you worry it can be a common cold but just take the baby to the dr in case either way also if it is the same bug my sons had it stays for a while and its pretty hard to get rid of hope that helps you out amd hope the baby feels better

First try HOME remedies (NO over the counter medication)
humidifier, and Vick's or Baby Vick's Vapo Rub.If you don't have baby vick's........use the regular Vick's with a layer of Vaseline first to make it less strong for your baby.
Put it on the chest, neck and back. It's a cough suppressant.

If it's a consisten cough that lasts for a week then bring him to your pediatrician.

It's probably nothing but if you are worried take him to the doc for your own peace of mind if for nothing else.

Bonjela is very effective to relieve teething pain. It is easy to apply and numbs the area straight away.

Try taking him off his milk for a day..just give juices and see if that helps the congestion. That usually worked for mine...The Dr always told me that milk makes everything thicker and it really does.
