Oh honey...I can totally feel your pain! The waiting is just miserable, isn't it.
I went a week over my due date and the doc induced me (their policy is to induce at a week overdue). I'm pretty sure that if they hadn't induced me, I would've eventually given birth to a ten-year-old! LOL
Best of luck with your labor and delivery!

Sometimes your baby can be overdue. If you go past 7-8 days of being overdue I would strongly request to be induced as if your baby becomes too big than this is unsafe to leave them inside of your uterus. However, I would wait for a full week as a due date is just an estimation and being induced makes the labor longer. I have heard this. I have never been induced myself. My first child was born on his due date. However, they pushed up his due date by 5 days after my first ultrasound. My second baby was born 4 days before her due date.

I know you're going nuts hearing everyone say "BE PATIENT" - I'm going nuts, too. Due on Wednesday, and the waiting game does stink!
You could try sex, walking around a lot, raspberry leaf tea, nipple stimulation, or castor oil - although castor oil will probably give you pretty painful cramps. I used it with my first, and it worked, but it was not fun.
Other than those things, I'd say to try talking to your baby about it. It sounds kind of nutty, but I have friends who swear up and down that it works. Just tell your baby that you can't wait to meet him/her, and that you're all ready to do everything for them so that they can be happy and comfortable - and it probably couldn't hurt to say something about wanting a fast, safe labor :D
Good luck - hope we both have our babies soon!

On my first child I went 4 days over. I was desperate for it to start too. It will start soon for you and it could at any moment.
I had no signs until I walked out to the garage and felt a slight tightening in my stomach and at that moment I knew!
I waited at home for a few hours then at 7pm They were regular at every 10 minutes so we went to the hospital and it was all go from there!
This ended in a caesarian for me, also my second one.
This is a very exciting time for you and 'that' moment could happen at any time now.
Good luck and best wishes!

with my second son they went in to induce labor and found out he was in the breech position did the dr's do an ultra sound to make sure baby is head down and in correct birthing position try walking alot it helps and rock your hips it helps the baby to lower down into your pelvis also my 3rd son he was induced and he never crowned it was quite a painful experience so maybe the baby just doesnt want to give up their reservation at the hilton :)also depending on if this is first pregnancy etc sometimes it is quite normal to be over due i was 3 weeks over due with the second one talk it over with your dr if you dont go into labor within the nexxt two weeks

Be patient.
Im not pregnant and I haven't had kids but I know lots of people who were over due and everything was fine.
When you think about it everyone is better off.
The longer the baby is in the womb, the healthier he /she will be. the baby is still absorbing all the nutrients and blood that you are collecteing for it.
I know it can be uncomfortable though.
I think there are some things that you can do to speed things up.
Long walks, spicy foods, and the most effective of all is sex.
Anyway just stick it out.
It will be worth the wait. You know that.
Good luck and congratulations

I sounds strange but have sex! The semen ripens up the curvix so it opens up and releases the mucus plug. It worked for me, both my babies born within 48 hours of sex.

Babies should be allowed to come when they are ready; with that said, sex, nipple stimulation, and walking are all natural methods of stimulating labor that are most likely to work when the baby is ripe.
