It may be true in that the older a woman gets the likelier her chances of having a handicapped child grow. When one has eight kids, a person would assume (and hope) that the mother is no spring chicken, thus increasing a risk of abnormalities.

Excepting disaster situations such as famine, flood, earthquake, poverty (lack of access to healthy food, living conditions and behavior) large families are often more healthy than smaller families - if your ancestors and relatives are healthy, and your first 7 children are fine, there is a good chance your 8th will also be fine.

It doesn't matter how many babies you have had, what matters more is the age of the mother.

The age of the mother matters because the quality of her eggs deteriorates as she ages, consequently, the risk of a Down's syndrome child increases.

8 babies?

Honey, we have to talk about how you can prevent those nasty things from happening.

But I did hear that as a woman has multiple children they take alot away from the bidy of the mother and that increases the risk of the baby not being totaly healthy.
