India should always play with five bowlers, especially now that we have real all-rounders like Pathan, Dhoni and Powar. If you play with five bowlers then a captain has plenty of options and if one of the bowlers isn't having a great day with the ball then he needn't bowl his full quota of overs . While when there are only four bowlers and one of them gets smashed around then the captain has no one to look forward to, that bowler has to bowl his 10 overs and in the process loses his confidence for the upcoming matches.

Depends on the pitches. West Indies is not going to be that conducive to pace. So I think we should go with people who can bat and bowl and keep four regular bowlers.

1. Munaf Patel
2. Pathan (or Agarkar depending on the form they show in ICC Champions Trophy)
3. Kumble (if he is not injured, he should be picked. He is a proven match winner. Else pick Powar)
4. Harbhajan

The fifth bowler could be Dinesh Mongia or Sehwag/Sachin combination.

We will then have a good batting lineup.

1. Sachin
2. Sehwag
3. Dhoni (Yes! He should come here to blast the attack)
4. Dravid
5. Yuvi
6. D. Mongia
7. Kaif
8. Pathan
9. Harbhajan
10. Munaf Patel
11.Kumble

India doesn't need 5 bowlers. Since, we have an extra batsman in the form og M.S. Dhoni, we always have Sehwag, Tendulkar or even Yuvraj as the fifth bowler since the wickets in West Indies will be slow pitches during the World Cup in 2007.

Yes, 5 batsmen, 4 frontline bowler, 1 allrounder and 1 wicket keeper will be the ideal combination. In the absence of any good allrounder, India should play 5 bowlers

India can proceed with 4 regular bowlers(harbajan, pathan, munaf,
agarkar) and one the fifth one can be alrounder like mongia, yuvi and the like.
I prefer alrounder because if top order couldn't do well, one good bowler should be handy. However sachin, sehwag, raina can be
substituted but concentration should be on the person who can do both batting & bowling and can get the winning hopes of WORLD CUP.

absolutely. i personally think that indian bowlers do not have much stamina tht they could do wth 4 bowlers except on rare days when they perform exceptionally well. also we bat deep & there is no need 2 have 6 specialist batsmen. instead hve 5 specialist bowlers or atleast an all rounder.
