find out if your motherboard supports USB 2.0, check the Internet, then you need a USB controller, its a driver that you install.

It's fairly silly to ask a question, then plead with people not to give you the correct answer. Like it, or not, you need a PCI card with all the sockets and circuitry that will allow your motherboard to become USB2 compliant.

I bought one for about £15, and fitted it to an old PC of mine that still relied on USB1.1, and it works a treat.

Some USB cards will act the goat on XP systems that don't have SP2 installed.

Its pretty simple. Does your mother board support USB2? You can check this buy going to your motherboard manufacturer website and check the specs. If you have the manual it will also help. If your motherboard supports USB 2 then also make sure you enable the in the bios. If not buy a USB card.

I would check to see if there is a flash bios update for your motherboard. Sometimes when there is an update for bios there is also support for new hardware like usb 2.0.

But be very careful doing a flash because you can render your motherboad useless. Read up on flashing the bios.

heres a cool site about bios http://www.wimsbios.com

No known problems, all universal. All you need is an open PCI slot and a PCI card, this is one of the simplest upgrades there is.

I hate to say it, but buy a usb2 card!! The only thing to check is that you have a spare PCI slot, I would go for a Belkin, rather than risk poor quality.
