Mustang overall as a car line. For a particular car, I would say the 1982 Mustang Boss GT 5.0 liter. This was the fastest production care in the U.S. that year at a little over $8000. Corvette, consequently regeared and put out a 1982 1/2 model that year so they could "retain" the title. It cost nearly three times as much with lower gas mileage. (A true 1982 Corvette is a real collectors item as so few were made because of the Mustang.)

Mine would go over 140 MPH and go from 0-60 in 6.4 seconds right off the assembly line. At 6' 5", this was the only car in my price range that I could drive comfortably on long trips. I bought it new in 1982 and owned it for about six years without mechanical problems. I still see it in town driven by a local kid. It's been wrecked a few times but still looks good.

The Ford 302 engine dies hard. I've often wondered why Ford can't make anything similar to it.

There are cars with more features, and some that many would consider more beautiful, but the Mustang line changed the way America looked at cars for a long time.

If you mean the century we are in it's too soon to tell! If you mean the last century, it has to be the Mustang.
