partly yes. it means one of the two things compared is soo superior that the second doesnt even deem consideration. like there is no comparison between you and a loser. :)

For me, personally, these two phrases do not mean the same.

Apples and plums are both fruits, they're sweet, they grow on trees. So they definitely have similarities.

But if a question is like "When does an apple go bad after having been picked off the tree?" and someone says "I don't know about apples but our plums go bad in almost 4 days" I'd definitely answer "but that's no comparison at all"

They have similarities but you still cannot compare them to each other for this particular question.

Yes. When u say "Comparison", it means u compare n search for similarities. But when u say "Contrast", it means u search for things which r not similar.
