Talking to yourself, talking to the computer. It's absolutely normal to a certain degree. Discussing serious topics with yourself or other not responding items may be a bit weird. Muttering to yourself on the streets like a old woman may seem a bit weird down. If I was you I would alsways have something living with me, so I could pretend talking to this person/animal/baby/corpse.

You have placed an interesting question here. I suppose if you do this privately than nobody is any the wiser about you talking to yourself. At times when we are overworked or stressed out, the amount of time spent talking to oneself increases.
I have heard it said and read it that talking to oneself is a good way to relieve tension and prevents you from going mad.
Occassionally it may get the better of you, but this doesn't make you mad or diagnose you as a freak. Talking laughing and crying to oneself is something we have all done, anyone who says they haven't is suffering believe me. For these are all highly charged emotive releases. Let them go.
I was on a bus one day, and for some reason or other something humourous came to mind. So I burst out laughing, I couldn't have cared less whether the whole bus full of passengers thought I was sane or mad. I'd let go and my day was better for it.
If you hold out on releasing these tensions you will make yourself ill, not in a physical sense but psychologically. I have noticed that some individuals - not all reach high tension points every ten years and they are often labelled as significant.
20. Training scheme, training scheme training scheme. With a pittance for a wage. I am not happy.
30. My god I haven't got a man in my life/my god I haven't got a girlfriend in my life "What is wrong with me?"
40. My god I don't own my own home. What have I done that is so wrong?
50. My god, I have really blown it now. I have no children to tell the stories of my life to. Oh I want to cry.
60. Well I am now a fitness wreck or freak, what can I do to make sure my pending old age is a fit and healthy one. I look awful this skinny but I'll live till a 100 just to annoy the kids.
70. No money from a private pension, my kids don't care about me, I thought I'd retired but being a grandma is no easy task, in fact I am an unpaid skivvy.Whatever shall I do?
80. I think I shall make out my will now. This is nearly always to late. Financial planning should be done before the onset of retirement and any major illness. Especially with regards to tax on any inheritences and trust schemes.I won't sell my home to a financial scheme as my son/daughter and grandchidlren will lose out. Ignorance or not seeking financial guidance here means the family will lose out.
90. Oh I feel great, I have my family run ragged and all I have to do is sit here and shout for something. Oh life is so good I will see a 100, as an armchair view of life is all I've had for the last 3 years, I don't think they'll mind in the least.
100. I'd like to give up the ghost, but my family won't let me. my doctors won't let me. I know if I poop and wee myself all the time then they'll let me go.
Why worry when talking to yourself is too much, life will have caught up with you and you will be blissfully happy. Enjoy it you only have one..

I wouldn't worry too much. However, I suggest you get a pet and start talking to that instead. You'll still be able to chat away to yourself but when people come into the room they won't question you as much! Having a pet is also very relaxing.

I think i'm slowly becoming the old man on the train who creeps everyone out. I started out just kinda singing parts of songs to myself, then I started mumbling what I need to do during the day, and now not only do I do those things, but I tell jokes inside my head and then just start randomly laughing and people are like whats up with this guy? I usually can hide it pretty well though, but who knows when I'm 60.

I do not care if I talk to myself sometimes. I will sit here and read something funny someone said. all by myself talking it out. and someone will come in.the house. and might hear me, I do not care.just be your self.say that the way I am. thats all. no explaining. just be the wonderfull person I know you are, you will be just fine, but if you start answering your self. then you might wont to catch your self on that. if people dont like it. I say they can lump it.

Dont worry about talking to yourself. Its fine, everyone does it,and there is no right or wrong amount of time to spend doing it.
Do worry about answering youself, but only if your reply is disagreeing with you. If you always agree with yourself, thats fine. Its called making choices.

I think it's OK as long as you're not telling yourself to burn the building to the ground or anything; I'm constantly talking to myself (mainly 'cause my office is really quiet), "commentating" on what I'm doing, working through ideas/plans. Sometimes things are easier to work out if you vocalise them, it's like showing your workings out.
(I always try to keep it so others can't hear what I'm saying, mind).

There is no such thing as talking to yourself too much. The problem comes from supplying your own answers to all things that you talk to yourself about.

I talk to myself all the time. If fact I spend most of the day laughing my head off at my own jokes. What a great sense of humour I 've got!

When you have a row with yourself... Thats probably too much!! (Though you might end up not speaking to yourself so it could be a blessing in disguise!)
