THUNDER
I hate the sound of thunder
cause it reminds me of war
leave me staring & wonder
where this weapon gonna score
a creul sound but never tender
shake me from surface to core
kills so many with hate and anger
innocent not knowing what for

Depends how old you are.
If you're under 10 then it's very good.
If you're 10-15 then it's OK.
If you're 16-18 then it's poor.
If you're 18+ then give up hope of ever being a poet.

I like this poem. It got a nice balance and meter. It has a universal voice with a hint of beat poetry or latter rapper influence. It’s introspective without conceit. it makes good use of the metaphor of thunder being ominous. It’s subject is accessible to read in that it is not overly layered with symbolism.

I hate thunder,
it sounds like war!
I stare in wonder,
when will it score.

A cruel sound,
shake me to my core,
Kills with hate and anger
Poor innocent souls what for?

Carpe Diem!
