My girlfriend has asked me not to come home before 4pm today as she has a man coming round to perform some essential maintainance work. She thinks it best that I'm not there in case things get messy and I get dirt on my clothes.
Does anybody else have such a considerate girlfriend or am I the luckiest man in the world?

Undoubtedly you have the most amazing girlfriend in the world. Take a huge bunch of flowers and some chocs home for her, just to show her how much you appreciate her considerate nature. In fact - why don't you propose at the same time? Its obviously a match made in heaven.

By looking at your user name.. you are the same guy who asked the question about your girlfriends calling out 'other mens' names. And the excuse of suggesting babies' names doesn't sound too convincing.
And now that she doesn't want you home by four because "the 'maintenance man' may get dirt on your clothes"...

Since you are truly aware of her being such a considerate person, go and bring her flowers and chocolates to show your appreciation. You are the luckiest guy.

It's very thoughtful of her...I must remember to show the same courtesy to my partner.
Take the opportunity to have a couple of beers before you go home, and don't forget to phone at 4, to check the maintainance man has left, and to suggest to your girlfriend that she meets you for a meal before going home. Treat her to something delicious, because she obviously deserves it.

LOL.....man you are so lucky to have her....I would go home about 4:15 with your clothes dirty and tell her the got that way when you and the Secretary needed to make a trip to her house to get an earring out of her drain......

Don't bother with that new outfit for her that I suggested, buy some boxing gloves instead, sounds like you might need them for more essential maintenance on the guy she has coming round.

this is obviously someone with a slightly underdeveloped sense of humour. We wouldnt all be laughing though if we didnt actually know people that been in these scenarios and actually believed their girl or boyfriend outlandish explanations along the same lines...
