Help! I'm looking for creative ideas for sending in CV's for potential employers in Graphic Design Agencies. My normal method of sending in CV's printed on A4 or sending by E-mail is not working. If you have any ideas please let me know!!! I don't mind any ideas print or via web.

Presentation is everything for Design jobs, its the first impression you give to your style and scope of your creativity. You need to make it really stand out from the crowd.

My friend sent her CV as an advert. Basically advertising herself (in a non-prostitute way!).
I've sent my CV as a piece of origami before.
Another friend wrote his CV on squares of paper and wrapped it in a box. But he was an artist not a designer but it looked amazing!

Try designing your CV so it folds differently, look at use of colour and print. Photographs.lots of humour.Think of it as the first design job for that company, with the brief being 'advertising for this product' and the product being you

Careful not to make it look too much like junk mail though or it'll end up straight in the bin!

You should make sure that you can send it via email too, lots of design jobs will ask for your CV in pdf.

What do you mean your normal methods are not working? Are they not getting there, or are you just not getting the jobs? Have you considered what's on the actual CV, and not just the presentation? Most employers see beyond flashiness and want to see substance. In fact, if you present something that's overly flashy and they find it difficult to find any substance in what they see, it could very well work against you.

Keep it simple, neat and to the point. Be objective.

hi, im a graphic designer, i just takes a while, no one really cares what way the they get the cv, just whats in it, the job im in at the moment, i sent my cv through email in a plain text format cos i wasnt really pushed about getting the job, but then i got it.. just be sure to always send through samples of your work in PDF format even if they dont ask for it, just say "attached is some samples of my work".. also if you have to post it, burn it to a disk, with a nice cover you designed nothin too flashy also with some pdfs burned to it too!

Good luck

How about a presentation on CD?

Or you could do something creative with folded paper which reveals a little more about yourself as you open it?

You're the graphic designer - you work it out!

Good luck.

You could design your CV on a webpage that they can have access to. This will show that you have other skills in the design area such as webdesign.
