Hi>
I brought my 1981 model 4.9 turbo back with me from being ex-pat in the Mid-East. Nice LHD white thing without the silly eagle transfer on the bonnet.
A somewhat extravagant move at the time, but I don't regret it.
I was wisely disuaded from the 7.0 version.
It got me nicely across desert highways at speed, and now toodles around rural Bedfordshire. Hey Ho.
Many of the UK insurance folks have not heard of one, nor have tyre & exhaust emporiums.

Any goodly humourous thoughts on the silly item ?

Bob.

That was the last year for that body style. After that they turned into a door wedge. That little v-6 turbo may be good enough for you but you wouldn't believe the power that could be had from the big v-8. Definitely not an "odd beast" but a well-known legend here in the US. They are no longer made, although the rumor has it that they will be brought back with the Camaro next year...

I used to have one of those, too! You'd better hope you never need exhaust manifolds - they are oddities and no longer available. Heck, they were a bear to procure back in 1985!

I really liked mine, it was responsible for getting me some good tail in my day! But performance? By todays standards, economy cars can beat it off the line quite easily...

Its a car with a lot of street cred in america- one of pontiacs best cars, youre lucky to own one. Lots of virginities lost in the back seats, theyre that kind of car. I would get some flames painted on it, hehe.

Do you have a little cowboy hat and get chased by "Smoky" a lot?
