Actually there is no password set in XP Professional machine. But when I am accessing that machine from the XP Home machine, it asks a user name and password. There is no pblm to connect my Home PC from that XP Professinal pc.

what you need to do is create a user with the same name and password as your home machine on the pro machine.

that way you get validated. i am 100% sure this will work.

If I am understanding the question, when you try to remote access one PC from another, you have to enter an ID and password. Sounds like when the hard drive on the second PC was set up for sharing, it was setup to only allow certain IDs to access the drive. Try going to the second computer and removing the "share" from the hard drive (right click on the drive, going into properties and then the sharing tab), reboot, and then share the drive back out again. That should remove the password from the drive.

i think, it is because the xphome have less security than xppro.
if your xppro had been set to join domain, it make the computer to ask for the password.
