There are many laws that pertain to business and commerce, including statutes on fraud, taxes, disclosure requirements, stock and securities transactions. Many business activities are regulated by the government, as opposed to being under the direct effect of the law. An example of this is the requirement for airbags and antilock brakes in cars in the US. These are not required by law, per se, but they are required by regulatory agencies that oversee the automotive industry.
