Yes six weeks is enough time, no one should have to put up with bitchy people in their job, its bad enough doing some of the office jobs around today without having that to contend with too, doesn't seem like a good job anyhow if they are unprofessional, I would be looking for another job asp, don't pack this job in until you have found something else, you could try speaking to management but if the atmosphere in the office is unprofessional then it doesn't say much for management does it, they might make it worse for you, buy a dozen stamps, print a dozen CV's and sit down with the yellow pages and find companies who you would prefer to work for and get your CV sent off to them, they are always looking for enthusiastic employers and it might just be your lucky day and what you need to get out of were you are, good luck and hope everything works out for you soon.

I too had the same problem with a dream job, however a Friend told me, in my case I had 2 choices stay and become like them or leave. I was sad to leave but knew things were never going to change. I am now unemployed but feel great has I'm no longer coming home every day peed off and upset that I had no power to make things better. Quit and be free. I quit before the 3 months probation period was up, otherwise I would have had to work 12 more weeks rather than 7 days.

from experience, i would give it a little longer and wait till your 3 month probationary is over you will get a chance to say your piece then. or get looking now and find another good job while you can hand in 1 weeks notice not a month? or speak to the agency they put you there and will lose the money they got for you if you leave so will probably do anything they can to help you sort it out???? try it! last 2 jobs i have had i felt the same this one i cried the day i started! but over time it has gotten better cos i changed my attitude towards work treat it as something to pay for your nights out and such like and think of it as a salary at the end of the month!

Sorry you are having a hard time. I am temping too and although the people are nice, the job is dull. I have been here 5 weeks and know that I will have to get something better eventually. Could you speak to your agency, tell them your concerns and ask to be placed elsewhere? Or else if they won't help, join another agency? No one should have to work with people like that. They probably only like that cos they are bored as hell, but it's no excuse, just think to yourself that you are better then them. Good luck whatever your decision.

I think if its the atmosphere in the office then 6 weeks is definitely enough. If it is just the general job then I would say give it longer. Remember you spend a lot of time at work so if you are not happy then get out of there! Good luck!

You want to be happy? Then find a job that you look forward to going every day. I just fired a girl. She had been with us for approximately six weeks. She was the negative seed in our company. Attitude changed in employees within two weeks of her employ.
Things will be much better and everyone will carry on.
Do yourself a favor and move on if for only your own sanity.

The bad feeling is being made worse, because of the dissapointment(you obviously built up expectations). Try to last at least 3 mnths, this is the general probational period. I stuck out in a shitty job once, and 3 yrs later Im still there and I love it. Good luck, hope it works out xx.

Ask the agency if they can get you something different. But until they do - stick with it.
At least you will know there is something different on the horizon, but you can make money in the meantime. Don't bag it in until you have other work though.
That would be worse than anything.
Good luck - that sort of work atmosphere is so difficult I agreee.

You might have to stick it out for awhile, just so your CV doesn't look too patchy - you don't want too many jobs in such a short period. Just keep positive and perhaps begin looking for a better job at some point in the near future.

My advice to you is as follows: stick with the job until you find a better one. Don't resign unless you're sure about your next job, becuase I dont think you would like to spent another 2months unemployed would you? Have patience
