I was able to work in England, Scotland, Ireland, and New Zealand because of BUNAC. As an American, probably would not have been possible any other way. They are not really a travel company though. What they do is facilitate the process of obtaining work visas for students (or for OZ anyone under 30) for a limited period of time (differs by country) at a relatively high cost though. They can then assist you in getting lower fares with flexible tickets, but so can STA Travel and the like.
The process is simple. You then get a work visa that allows you to enter that country and apply for any work for the limited timeframe. If you find a company that is willing to sponsor you, you can apply with immigration in that country to extend your work visa with company sponsorship. If you are going to OZ, you have 4-months, but you can apply for an NZ visa at the same time to start when the OZ one expires (6-months in NZ).
Other citizens besides the US can use BUNAC as well but the programs differ and the length of visas are usually longer. When I was working in Scotland, I had a friend there on the BUNAC program from Canada. We were reading through each other's books and hers actually saids, "Unlike your American cousins, you are allowed to stay for 2-years because you were not involved in that nasty tea party incident." ...LOL
Do it. You'll love the experience.

Ooh good question. I'm about to use them to go and work in Canada for a year. Went to one of their presentations last week. They just re-iterated the website but the best thing about it was meeting the people from the company. They had been to lots of places with the company (you can only work for them if you've used them) so were very helpful with questions. Seemed very friendly and enthusiastic about helping.

yeah i ysed them to come to New Zealand. You do pay quite a bit more than if you arrange everything for yourself, but it is hassle free and you are usually fly with a decent sized group of people, i flew with 12 other and am still in touch with most of them. One of the things that attracted me to the use them was they guaranteed you a job, well that was wrong, in New Zealand their works programme is useless, although they can get you some good discounts on activities and travel and accommodation.
Whatever you do have a blast.
