There are thousands of UK couples trying to adopt third world babies, tied up in a stream of beaurocracy with waiting lists as long as my arm, and yet Madge strolls in, picks one up and says thanks very much.
What's wrong with the system? Debate.
Clue: It's not about being a good parent - it's about how much you can afford to pay.

Just because someone is famous doesn't mean that its a fashion statement to adopt a baby.
Lots of orphans are taken into caring new homes and if the publicity that Madonna n Angelina make helps other people to make that hard life changing decision to give a baby a chance in life then I applaud them.

An adoption of a baby in need is always a noble gesture.
My daughter adopted one and searched for the most
needed. He was already two years old and urgently in
need of, at least, two open heart surgeries. Already gone
through two and still requires one last valve fixing. The
child is not black, but is brownish. The baby would not
have survived if my daughter did not go ahead and sign
loads of legal papers committing herself to go the whole
way in saving the child. I, not as grandfather-in-law, but
as human being, think she did the correct thing and am
very proud of her and of her husband. They were the
only ones who volunteered to adopt this child. PS. My
daughter is white and of Scottish descent. I was born in
Glasgow.

I just answered a very similar question about 1 minute ago although i don't think calling it a 'black baby' is right. I think the key is a third world orphan.

Don`t like your use of the words "Key for the season". When I saw that, memories of Kevin Carter`s 1994 Picture came to mind.

i think that adopting babied is a wonderful idea whether black , white , green or blue we all have the same blood running throuh our veins if you can afford it and have the time and attention to care and love and give someone the opportunity to learn that is the most precious gift of all. Lots of celebs have money and all they can do is spend it on drugs and booze when they can do a memerable thing or contribute to charity. PLEASE QUIT THE RACISM PEOPLE

Madonna's child will have a much better life with her, than in an orphanage. I don't see what the fuss is all about - she even tried to keep it a secret, so it wasn't for the publicity.

its acutally a shortcut to proclaim the world tht they are doing good by adopting poor black babies.. if they had serious intentions, they wudnt make much media hype abt it and rather keep it discreet.. its all abt celebrity PR again.. just to keep their ratings up..

I don't think its right, if she wanted to make a difference she could give his family a load of money to look after him properly, or the whole community, she has so much.
