Sit tight. I do so hate nosey, overbearing neighbours and I'm sure they would not appreciate your interference at such an early stage of your neighbourly relationship. Perhaps just pop your head round the curtain every now and again just to satisfy your curiosity.

If they do not say hello or ask you in for tea, they will probably prefer to be left alone.

I try and stay clear of show offs anyway, remember, just because they have a big open fire does not mean that they are better than you

If they're swinging from windows and shouting, obviously they need help. You should go help them instead of asking about it on Yahoo answers. Grab your fire extinguisher and put it out.

If you don't start the fire in the first place then they won't be shouting out of the window

Perhaps you could write them a note first inviting them round for canapes or cheese and wine before imposing a 'rescue' mission. If they don't respond with a correct gold edged RSVP then they obviously want to be left alone. Let them fry, try next door instead!

Maybe you should invite the neighbours round for cheese and wine so you can discuss this in advance and know whether they would like help or just prefer to be left in peace to burn.

I`d ask them to be quiet as they may wake the children these "House Warming Parties" have a tendency of getting out of hand!!!

i think the real question here is..... did you start the fire! and if so, were there any witnesses?

if you did i think you are not doing too well at making a good impression.

let us know how you get on...

I wouldn't ask if they needed help because they very obviously do , call the fire brigade and try to help whatever way you can.

very tricky, if you ask whether they need help this could well be seen as nosey.
If you dive straight in and help anyway you risk being accused of assuming they need help, and you should've asked.

How about just carrying on like normal and pretending you haven't noticed anything unusual?
