The bed I sleep on is a pillow top mattress. I awake every morning with a backache. I am thinking of trying a sleep number bed, can anyone tell me something about them, good or bad?

It is a bed that the softness or hardness can be adjusted with air.

I have had mine for about 3 years now and I love mine. I too used to wake up with backaches. once in a while now I will still wake up with one but not very often. It takes a while to get used to sleeping on one, but I would not go back to a conventional bed.I like to idea of setting my own firmness. I do tend to have a deeper and restful sleep. and if I feel as if I overdid it that day, I just set the control on a low number, turn the electric blanket on and all my aches and pains seem to melt away while snoozing.
To me, they are well worth the money.

I had to get one because I was in two car wrecks (neither was my fault) and it wrecked some stuff in my lower back. I would have a backache every morning. With the bed I have a backache maybe once a month now. It's amazing how valuable a good night's sleep is when you can't have one. It's great waking up and not even thinking about your back.

They have a good warranty also. A piece on the box under the mattress broke and I called them and they shipped it that day. I didn't have to have dates, or receipts, or any numbers, etc. They just looked it up and said yep, we'll get it out.

Go test them out at the store. I kind of liked it, but it didn't seem all it was cracked out to be.
