I had an interview a while back for a job I REALLY want. A month later I got called back for a 2nd interview. We scheduled it for the 5th October, but unfortunately they had to cancel because the person interviewing was suddenly hit with an urgent project. She said they would call me the next day to reschedule for the following week.
I never received a call! I emailed last week to ask whether there was any progress in rescheduling my interview, but no response.
I don't want to keep bugging them, if this is going to make me look annoying and lower their opinion of me, but at the same point I really need to know where I stand. I don't have a phone number for the person, and she's already not replied to one email- should I send another?

It's worth noting that this is a really big well-known company and I can't imagine this would be their normal standard of professionalism.
I'm dealing with their HR dept, not a recruitment consultant- but to make things worse, I was fobbed off by one of those for another job I interviewed for last week! So you can imagine how annoyed I am right now!

If it was a recruitment agency you went through
Then this is a standard fob off from a consultant that is either too scared/lazy/bad attheir job to tell you you've not got it.
I hope this is not the case for you, but be prepared for the worst
***just thought i should say that I had the same thing once and because it was such a big company they were hiring so many people. It was 2 months between first and second interview. By the time the job offer came through I had already started at a new company and been there for a month!***

I think there are a few more questions you need to ask yourself.
Are you really the best person for this job? Can you do this job better than anybody else, and better than candidates that you've met?
If so, then chase this job up! Hunt it down until you are DEFINITE that they do not want you.
Are you talented, driven, and comfortable in your talents and self-worth? If so, it would not be so important to you to "do the right thing" in this situation. Rather you would be following your heart, applying to many different companies, knowing that they all wanted you, and picking the company that was most enthusiastic. You would not accept second-rate behaviour from a potential employer.
My opinion of this is that they do not want you, yet do not have the decency to let you know in a professional manner.
Of course, it could still be the case that their routines for dealing with external communication are extremely shambolic, and that they will get back to you "when they can." But if this is the case, are you sure you REALLY want to work for such a company?

The ball is in their court. They cancelled the second interview, and have not contacted you since.
Try asking why there has been a delay via a third party. (do not call them directly anymore)
In the meantime, explore as many other options as you can. If they leave it too long it will be their loss.

I would really try to get a contact number and phone up. Surely the personnel dept would know where things stand, even if you can't find the interviewer.

If you can get a general number for the company then I would try to call them. You have nothing to lose and if anything it will only make you look keen! Good luck, I hope you get it!

Get the phone number, not her personal one, just the company one and ask for someperson responsible after that, just give that company a miss and move on, why waste your talent unnecessarily.

I would say that is down right rude of them. Certainly call them up, you must be able to get the number from directory inquiries if you know the name of the business/company, and where it is.

Search the internet-try yell.co.uk for their phone number and speak to someone and find out. It would be awful to miss the opportunity as their letter hadn't reached you or whatever.
Good luck
