The only way to start a business is to do some research first.
1. Do a google search on gem business and check out your competitors.
2. Go to ebay.com and see the gems that people are selling. Note those designs that are particularly successful.
3. If you can read chinese, go to baidu.com and do a search there. You may get supplies that are cheaply manufactured in China.
4. For other information on starting a business, go to http://www.articlemap.com - an article directory that has a catalogue of more than 20,000 articles.

Go to http://www.score.org/ to find the nearest SCORE chapter. Contact them to arrange for a free one on one meeting with a SCORE counselor about starting a gem business.
SCORE is a nonprofit organization. They provide a public service by offering small business advice and training. .
SCORE's 10,500 volunteers have more than 600 business skills. Volunteers share their wisdom and lessons learned in business. The volunteers are working/retired business owners, executives and corporate leaders.
