Yes...Some kids are just .. well, hard to love demonstratively. Speaking as a parent I have one sixteen year old that pretty much feels exactly in the position of your question. She feels soooo unloved!
She screeches (there is no volume control)
She slams doors (there are no door mufflers)
She finishes an entire sentence( I get two words)
She says "seeya"(I'm hugging fresh air)
She feels unloved??????? I love her to death!!!!!
Without preaching... don't be too harsh, sometimes it is a little touch and go.......that's FAMILY!!!! Not everyone gets that lucky.

I have one younger brother. This is honestly truth and not trying to get sympathy but I KNOW my parents both love him more than me. They have all but admitted it a few times. I am ugly, big and tall and too skinny, and I have a strange personality and I speak my mind. He is more little and cute, he got all of the good appearance from my parents and I got all of the bad ones, and he is very sneaky so it looks like he never does anything wrong. Everybody when we were little would point and go all crazy for how cute he was and not even look at me once because I guess I am not cute even as a child. But you would think they would at least pretend, but no. Even all of my other relatives. It makes me hate him a little bit.

I've never had that feeling from my dad. I know my dad loves me and I never doubt that. However, not to be mean, but my mom has issues and I really think she isn't capable of unconditional love parents should have for their children. So I do have doubts when it comes to my mom.

When I was ill I had that feeling. But, around then, I wasn't able to distinguish real from false.

My parents do love me, and they're superheros to me for it.

Yes... even when rage and anger is blinding me and mean, loud words are spilling out from our mouths, I still know deep inside that they love me... Even though they don't show it, I know they love me. They are, after all, my parents... well... unless if I was abducted by aliens and they were assigned to be my "parents"... Hm...
