As for fungi the death cap (aminita phalloides) is the most lethal. It accounts for over 90% of deaths by fungal poisioning. Only a very small amount is needed to cause sever illness and death. It contains 6 amino toxins and about 7 phallo toxins. The main toxin is A-amatain. It can take up to 3 days to die a very painful death. The destroying angle (aminita verosa) is more rare but just as nasty. There are a lot more but these two are the worst.
I believe that the most poisious creature is the south american tree frog touching it is enough to kill you.
Get some books on fungi you will be amazed at them. I have studied them for over 20 years and still have hardly touched the surface of them. Its a realy facinating subject.

Whilst it does not originate from an animal or a plant, the most poisonous substance known to man (so far) is Botulinum Toxin.

1 pg (picogram 1 x 10^-12 g) is adequate to kill a man. If it could be distributed equally then only 6 milligrams would be needed to kill the entire human population of the world.

One reason it is so powerful is that a single molecule can effect multiple sites (cleavage of synaptic proteins) before being destroyed.

Little known fact that (poak salad) while safe to eat if boiled drained rinsed, boiled again, and drained and rinsed is safe to eat if cooked this way. Can be very bad for your health. Native Americans learned how to cook it a long time ago. I understand that some Japanese people eat the puffer fish raw, this is not a good thing, very, very poisonous.
