you have to have shoes for all occasions. Simple as that, it's the rules.

I'm not one of those women. I only have 5 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of slippers.
Is that a lot?

I must admit, I, too, am fond of shoes. What happens is you see some (on sale) that would go with a certain outfit, and you have to buy them. Or, you need running shoes for exercising, boots for cold weather, closed shoes for normal fall-winter, semi-open shoes for spring, sandals for summer--nice ones for work, comfy ones for the weekend, flip flops or thongs for the beach, fancy ones for special occasions; then we have to consider heel height--flat, medium (I no longer buy high), colour (black, navy, white, beige are the basics--you can't wear a white skirt and top with black shoes), material (leather, suede, cloth) and purpose (every day, sports, walking, work, fancy). I've tried to keep the shoe requirements to a minimum for my daughters (2 and 4) and have limited them to runners, one pair of little girl shoes (you know, with the buckle across the in-step), one pair of boots, and slippers. When the shoes get worn for only one season, you need to be practical. But the logic behind adult female shoe-shopping is that you will have the same shoe size for ages, so you're really getting your money's worth when you buy yourself some shoes. And did you see the sale they have? 30 % off . . . .

I'm female and I don't see what the fuss is about shoes...
I'm not much into shopping myself but my dear old mother (not that old) just loves it and pushes me into buying stuff for myself every time we go out...
I literally wear my shoes out, I wear about two different pairs of shoes for a long time until they give out on me and then I switch ^^
So, I guess I'm not much of an 'Imelda'

because every woman is an actress
--in however large or small a part she wants to pursue--
and shoes are wardrobe
(especially when she nothing else on)
we are particularly fortunate to be living in today's world,
because we have access to
a variety of styles
at
a variety of prices
we have expendable income
--that WE earned,
and society is open about valuing
appearance
most important:
we LOVE ourselves!
and dare to do something for...."me"
would you like to see the pair i bought today?

One pair of shoes doesn't necessarily go where a different pair of shoes will. It's all about being prepared for different occasions.

Ask Emelda Marcos (wife of former Phillipine president and now deceased Ferdinand Marcos). She really did have thousands and thousands of pairs of shoes.

Oh yeah..many times!! But what really gets me is when one of my laces breaks and I need a back up he would get so pissed off if I took his laces... It's not like i'm never going to give them back.. Plus, it keeps him from getting rid of my shoes!!
