I have commented about this before. The people with all the hilarious stuff here are really destroying the integrity of this forum. I do not bother responding to their stuff. And I am not a cyber crybaby or tattle tale so I do not run to Mommy Yahoo.Which does no good anyway. Even if something is removed they are back again in minutes with more.
I think somehow Yahoo should be forced to have someone monitor this forum 24/7 and immediately remove the garbage.
Any ideas?

I don't like the argument Yahoo is a "free service". They are a profit making company. Their asset is their users. They should take care of their users.
This forum is so cluttered with junk that I think a lot of people don't bother to waste their time.
Yahoo should treat their users with respect and provide a useful service to them. If people insist on this they will.

Someone responded that I should report this abuse. I do not ever do this cuz I am a free speech advocate-even hate. My problem with this forum is that there is so much of it that it is destroying the whole concept of open debate and destroying its value. Since Yahoo depends upon people using their stuff to make their profit they should do something about all the garbage here which is driving customers away.

I agree with you whole heartily. In fact I also complained about it a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I don't know how to correct the situation. The questions and answers flow into this forum so fast 24/7 that Yahoo would have to hire a full team to keep up with it. As one person above suggested, they would then have to charge for the forum or shut it down entirely.
Unlike Indy above, I have never received any acknowledgement from Yahoo when I've reported abuse. Even when I reported one case of what appeared to be an under aged boy asking for older men for fun. However, that request was removed so I was satisfied.
Anyone who follows my answers would find that I have a pretty sharp tongue when dealing with people like Olga and the others. I don't know whether it would help if we ignored them or not. I do know that their attacks turn a lot of new members away, which is sad.
Perhaps Yahoo could just cut off membership to Yahoo entirely from any computer that is used to repeatedly send such abuse. However I doubt that will happen so all we can do is to continue reporting the abusers and hope they eventually give up.

Obviously Yahoo doesn't care as long as people are using it. I had an interesting thing happen yesterday. I report every posting that threatens to kill or do harm to anyone. I've done it literally hundreds of times now. Yesterday was the very first time I got a response back from Yahoo, and it wasn't about the regulars who post here.
I am going to start contacting them through the regular customer service, maybe others should.

If you are not going to report the negative posts, then you aren't helping at all. Yahoo doesn't moderate these forums, they simply react to the negative posts. After a few complaints, every post that I report, when it get's checked, Yahoo has sent me a little note that they are looking into the complaint. So far, they seem to be about 2 or 3 days behind. If everyone who was offended by the likes of the hate-gaming squad in here would report the questions and not respond, Yahoo might take this more seriously.

A loosing battle, YAHOO obviously does not care. Yes it would be nice if someone filtered out the obvious crap but clearly Yahoo feels that if Gays/Lesbians want a site that is actually friendly to their interests then they will go elsewhere. But yes when one yearns for intelligent discourse Yahoo Q & A is not the place.
Peace...

we just have to TRY and ignore all the morons and homophobes. they only stay because they get copious amounts of attention. sometimes it's very hard to ignore an especially henious comment, but your best bet is ignore them, if you feel the need report them.however, that only causes them to create another alias and start again...........the best thing i can say is pray to God they don't breed. a child would surely have a miserable life with parents as full of hatred and bile as the homophobes posting on yahoo.

Well, they could do that but then that would cost Yahoo more money and then they might have to charge users for this service.Personally, I don't get offended and find that the best way to deal with it is to respond to the garbage with wit and tact.

"Forced"??
It is a private business. You have the choice of paying attention..or not. You have the choice of using the boards or not.I report folks who are over the top, and have put some people on ignore, but "force"????
Would you like to have the government force you to hide your sexuality because it is offensive to NeoCons?
