The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a set of rules used by a communications device (such as a computer, router or networking adapter) to allow the device to request and obtain an Internet address from a server which has a list of addresses available for assignment.

DHCP decides your IP address, so thus you don't have to look into available IP addresses because DHCP manage to control all IP addresses.
All you have to do is pointing DHCP IP address on your network settings.

Whit DHCP server , clients in a LAN can take IP addresses dynamically and configuration of your network such as DNS name , DNS server , Domain controller and ....
Microsoft says , in networks with greater than 10 PCs you must run a DHCP service in your server.

Dynamic Host Control Protocol
Basically it assigns IP addresess to network devices on an Ad Hoc basis I.e. as and when needed.
Used in preference to a static IP address ( as in configured by you on your machine ), as it is easier to manage on large networks.
Your ISP probably uses DHCP to assign you an external IP address to allow you to access the internet

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.
It's a method for distributing IP addresses to machines automatically. The alternative is to manually set a static IP address on every machine.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Basically, it's a program that assigns you your IP address to your computer.
Your IP address is just like your home street address. It gives a location on the web, or on your network, to deliver data to your computer.
