back up all your contacts and just ignore your old addy... You can just start afresh. yahoo will delete your account automatically if its not been used in awhile.

You can not delete your yahoo id, but it will authomatically disclosed if the user is no longer active. You can change your profile by clicking MY Account, then, Edit Profile, on your yahoo page. try it.

If you haven't signed into your account for a period of time (I believe it 3 months) you account will automagicly be deleted. It is not possible to delete an account any other way.

yeah, just leave it dead. better than deleting it, this leaves someone else a chance to use your old ID...and from what i know, people who were previously on your friends list will still see the ID if it's deleted and then re-created.

but you can have another one and start all over again

just dont use it ?
it will get expired in three months
