I worked on security systems for along time and used to look at the work order before I got there to figure out their names, so I could say hi mr./mrs whatever when they came to the door.
Jewish people can have first and last names I can't possibly pronounce, I'd just say hi and tell them my name, and just say yes/no mam/sir.
Their first and last names can be like twelve letters long each.

There was trouble over the Film "Meet the Fockers". The film company could only use the name if they could prove it was a real Sername. They managed to find just one Family in all of America with that name, but that was enough for them to use the name, so yep it's Focker for me!

Focker is the weirdest surname I've ever heard. There are lots of foreign names that sound weird to us because we're not used to hearing them.
