we have been trying for three years now & do not want to do the IVF thing, but a natural pregnancy.I have heard that different positions help, like ensuring she "gets off" first, then while I am behind her, i then get off, then place a pillow under her so as to avoid any leaks for 15 minutes. Is this true, does it really help, along with good timing for ovulation? we are both very healthy & have been cleared by our doctors to try & conceive.

PLEASE ignore shard(or shad whatever their name is). You definitely still have time to become pregnant. And as for down syndrome, they say that the chances of having a baby with down syndrome increases after age 40 however, 80% of children born with down syndrome are born to women in their early 20's. If your doctor has cleared you then I say go for it!! There was a woman in my doctor's office that was 50 and pregnant with her first. It is God that determines what time is right for you to have a child, NOT anyone on here, so don't listen to the age-a-phobics that say you're too old. I am 39 and hubby is 48 and we are trying for our first. I will continue to try until God tells me that it's never going to happen.
As for positions, doggy style is best because it places the sperm closer to the uterus. Also those that tell you to put a pillow under her hips are misinformed. Placing a pillow under her hips causes the sperm to gather at the cervix which makes a longer, harder journey for them to reach the egg. After you ejaculate however you should withdraw immediately and have her lie flat for 10 - 15 minutes. You should start intercourse 1 week after her period ends and then bed every other day for the next 10 days. So, say her period was today 10/17 (and her cycle is 28 days), you should bed every other day from Oct. 25th - Nov. 3rd just to cover the basis incase she ovulates early or late. I hope this helped and please try to ignore some of the ridiculous advice you will receive on here (especially those telling you, just relax it will happen!! Those people kill me.) Good luck and baby dust to you and your wife!!

I am sorry, but you have to do the Invitro, as she is getting older and older and one of these days soon, she will be in the menopause and you can't even if you wanted to. Go to a doctor and forget the natural way, especially if you have been trying for 3 yrs, and nothing. Time is wasting. The older the woman and the eggs are, then the risks are greater for other things to happen, deformities and such. It does cost money, but you can almost be reassured that you could possibly have twins by this method, as they use many eggs and see which ones take. It is better than trying any longer and it is too late. Go now, and make arrangements to pay with a loan, or something, but forget the natural way, it is too late if it has not happened by now. It is either go get it done, or you may not have any at all. It is your choice. They also can do some testing and see if there are any problems with the eggs now, and why you have not conceived yet. Maybe they have treatments, etc. If you want a baby, that is what I would suggest to do. My son was 46, and had invitro, his wife was like 35, she had twins, boy and a girl. Right after she had the babies, she got a bad pap smear and they had to do a hysterectomy on her, so if she had waited, she would not have the babies. He had a vascetomy several years ago and the reversal didn't work, so they did the invitro, and now have two beautiful babies. You just never know, so go ahead now before it is too late.

Average age of menopause is 52; if you've been trying for three years, then your wife is probably at least in perimenopause. I strongly suggest a fertility clinic at this point. Be aware that after age 40, the risk of a child with Down Syndrome goes up significantly.

Sounds like you have the correct info- go for it- she should be fertile for a few more years- I know a lady that had a baby at age 44. Happy baby making and don't wear snug briefs- they increase the heat in the scrotum and decrease the sperm count!! Best wishes!! D

It is better to let nature do her thing. If it is meant for you and wife to have a child she will get pregnant and it is not by means of staging the vent to calculate time....time is all you have, but years you do not. The best of times still lay ahead in your life should you choose not to have a child.

the pillow thing should help. you guys should be fine. you being behind her does not make a difference, but it is worth a try. If I were trying for 3 years, i would try just about anything.

speaking from the point of view of a woman... if a guy had to grant my toddler away, he's not somebody i could opt for to have around besides. i don't think of she become top to cheat, and that i'm taken aback he become waiting to forgive her so in the present day... however the welfare of the youngster is a distinctive ingredient; the toddler should not be punished for the movements and emotions of the mothers and dads. Edit: the appropriate place for a toddler is with it quite is mothers and dads. Your situation isn't a passable explanation for adoption in any respect; it could in basic terms be an option in cases the place the two mothers and dads are bodily unable to attend to the youngster. it quite is not probable the guy's determination besides; if i become pregnant, i could be protecting the toddler with me and it could consistently come first. If I had to opt for between my husband or my toddler, i could opt for my toddler. i can not think of any mom who would not.
