happy with any useful definition of village, maybe 100+ people within a reasonable proximity. Ok if metropolitan areas are included as 1.

How many dwellings constitutes a village? According to the Ordnance Survey, a village has to have the minimum of 12 dwellings, a public service building, i.e a post office, and a customary public house. hundreds in Britain, especially Scotland and Wales.
